Luke AFB was my last assignment. Being a training base, with many high airframe hour jets and an incredible sortie schedule. The law of averages makes Luke a prime candidate for accidents of all kinds.
Prayers up for the pilot and his family.
P.S. also, prayers up for the crew-chief who just lost his “baby”.

It's true - those airframes have a lot of hours piled on them, but when I came through (*ahem* before the F-16), I was always impressed with the crews who kept them running.
In a way, it's a credit to them (the ground crews, ATC, etc.) that this is so rare that it makes the news. If you go back 50 years, things used to be a lot more dangerous.
