The Obama campaign says they have no plans to ask the Rev. Jeremiah Wright to step down from a campaign spiritual advisory committee. They're stressing that this committee -- the African American Religious Leadership Committee -- was a laundry list of people associated with the campaign and didn't really do anything. The group never actually met.
They say Wright has no formal role on the campaign (unlike some others on this committe who do have a formal role in faith-based outreach). They say he was included mostly out of respect to his long relationship with Obama.
Aides say he was not present during the Christmas 2007 sermon or the post-Sept. 11 sermon. They weren't sure about some of the others in question, are not sure when the last time the two spoke, and they stressed they don't speak frequently.

I think somebody recognizes a tar baby when they see one.
So he is sticking by him...stick a fork in Obambam...
They’re going to ride this thing out? They can’t be serious. Even the DUers are apoplectic. They have to throw uncle Jeremiah under the bus.
I’m stuned.

Yeah, incredibly dumb decision.
He probably cannot make it down the step.....
I hope they keep him on for the duration.
Whoa...
Obama really doesn’t get it..that’s the MOST disturbing part of this entire situation. Apparently this is SOP in his world and he doesn’t see what all the fuss is about.
Just switched on the TV- MSNBC saying they will have a statement from Obama in a minute about the issue..

What’s a poor little superdelegate to do?!?
When Osbama moved to Chicago his wife was born and raised there and I’m sure that she steered him to this church since it is attended by many prominent black people in the district where he ran for office. There are a lot of blacks there who agree with Wright and talk the same way.
Osbama got where he was in Illinois with their support and he can’t throw them under the bus.
But he will try to talk his way out of it..but he will never foresake these people.
Can we post from Huffington Post?

Obama has written a statement on Wright etc...
The supers will give it to Hillary, then blame the Republicans for smearing Obama to the point he was unelectable.
