How much would gas be here if we stripped away state and federal tax?

How much has those prices risen in the last 5 yrs, compared to ours?
That British one can’t be right. We’ve calculated that it was near $10. in U.S. Dollars a gallon.
The article said “gallon” and the cost translated into dollars so I would assume U.S. Gallon. Still...
High prices are all in industrially string countries or countries with high ecological restrictions or no oil of their own.
The only ones I know of are those in Italy and they have not gone up that much in the past five years because the dollar is going down.

The national avg. of Fed and state tax per gallon is .42,IIRC.

Those countries have always had really high gas prices compared to ours for a long time. That’s why most of them produce or buy tiny cars. That and their lousy, tiny roads.
agreed..I don’t know what the exchange rate is right now, but it’s FAR higher than $5.62 per gallon..by the way, britain uses an imperial gallon (4 liters per gallon), we use a U.S. gallon (3.8) liters per gallon.
That must be a really old email. It’s definitely more like $9 -$10 a gallon in the UK, depending on where you fill up.
It may have been under $6/gallon when I lived there and that was 6 years ago.

Real simple: Mr. President, please explain to the world how important a vital American economy is to the future of the UN and the world as it relates to the amount of aid we are sending to the ingrates around the world. Explain further how important reasonable fuel prices are to the economy. If the world doesn’t value our currency, we just won’t be passing it out as freely, knowing full well that our “good friends” the Russians, Chinese, Europeans and Middle Eastereners will pick up the slack to ensure the rest of the world is fed, clothed, and protected....

And the globalists and oil companies have apparently determined that Americans should stop getting an easy ride and pay what everybody else pays.
That, along with the devalued American dollar have driven the price of petroleum products and eveything shipped by petroleum upwards.
Globalization has resulted in increased income for a few in America and a reduction in the living standards for many
as a result.
Good luck trying to buy any gas in Caracas.
