Lest anyone get bent out of shape about the Another Reason list being pinged.... this is an
Nation of cowards. We are afraid of a kid with candy and will ruin his hard earned efforts for it.
3 seconds! But points to me for the gateway term.
In the era of kinder, gentler jackboots they don't execute miscreants, they taser them.
New rule. You can sell Skittles as long as you kick-up to the bosses
First they came for the parents' cigarettes...
Mark Levin devoted almost all of his two-hour show yesterday to this travesty and presented one of his classic rants against the school and the “adults” running it. Go here to hear it:

The people need to give the educational institutions and good personnel enema. The people they put into these positions are frigging morons.
suspension from school, barred from the honors dinner... extreme... excommunicate the perps !!!!
OK, if anything deserves a big WTF, this is it.
The idiots in charge should be asking themselves how “healthy” and “well” it is to consider a bag of candy to be “contraband” and to suspend students and strip them of any Associated Student Body titles because of a freakin’ package of Skittles!!
They should also each be subjected to a month-long watch over their OWN diets, including body fat and cardio tests. Hey, you can’t be preaching “wellness” to the kids without being an example of “wellness” your own stupid self, now, can you? Suck in that belly!
Great minds. I’ll give you the points.
Where in Fl are you?
This just goes to prove that our nation has completely lost its way - going nuts over CANDY! Atleast when I was in high school they worried over the things like drug overdoses and smoking in the bathrooms!
And this WASN’T in The Onion!
Truth is stranger than fiction.
I’ve got a shoe hanging for a story about an ATF team breaking up a clandestine meeting of 6-year-olds playing with GI Joes.
I’m going to take a partial contrarian view.
In 2003, the school decided not to offer candy for sale. This empowers PARENTS who don’t want their children eating too much candy. If parent wanted to allow their kids to have candy during school, the kids WERE allowed to bring their own candy to school.
However, they weren’t allowed to SELL the candy to other students, since that would again take away the power of parents to control what the kids ate.
THE ACTIONS they took against the child were excessive, but I don’t think the POLICY is inappropriate. School exists to teach children, not to provide them a candy store.
Of course, when I went to school we didn’t have ANY vending machines, and the cafeteria served only cafeteria food, not candy and snacks and sodas.
OK.......how about a sitcom starring a republican, conservative family who moves to New Haven. Their neighbors are all raging libs, who they must tolerate....use every stereotypical lib you can imagine with all their loony causes........mmm, has that been done already? Anyway, the family has this silly PC stuff happening around them and they keep thinking is there anyone with some common sense around here?
What they are instilling in this generation is a general contempt and disrespect for authority. Once one hits the point of ... no matter what you do you are a criminal ... you might as well be one
He's an honors student and class vice president, so we know he's not dumb, yet he now claims he didn't know candy was banned. Worse, the principal apologized for not being clearer!
Yes. The inmates are running the asylum.
South — living/working the SW Broward/Miami axis. Whereabouts are you?
I feel really bad for today's kids -- including my own -- because they will miss all of the freedom I had when I grew up.
