Yes there is a death penalty on the books - however it is INACTIVE because the NC Medical Society refuses to meet the state’s requirement to be forced to have a doctor at the executions.
No doctor. No executions.
Am not sure what that will mean here - if the death penalty can still be found by a jury/judge or not.
Maybe legal eagles from NC can report in on this topic.
I Texas, it would be a no-brainer.
Glad they got him - best we can hope for is that they either rot in prison, or get taken out by the other prisoners.
Could you use a veterinarian?
Does the law require it to be an NC doctor? If so, amend the law to eliminate that requirement.
"Have Degree, Will Travel" reads the card of a man...
I doubt anyone will get the death penalty here. They will be tried in orange county(chapel hill) very liberal and against the death penalty.
Change the law. What is a doctor going to do there anyway? Get a veterinarian’s assistant or just hold a mirror up to the mouth and if it fogs up, juice ‘em some more til it doesn’t.
They would not need anyone from the NC Medical Society if they just shoot them, hang them, throw them to the lions, etc..
There are ways around is problem.
