And what? It's antisemitic to suggest that religious parents don't want their daughters to marry outside the religion? That was a major theme of Fiddler on the Roof. Some people are way too sensitive.
I try to take people at face value, and also try to see the best in what they’re saying, and not take things personally unless it’s a “you so-and-so”.
And I am not defending Spitzer at all. Adultery is inexcusable, be it Clinton, Craig, Vetter, Hart, McGreavy, etc. I also don’t know how religious Spitzer is, but that is irrelevant in this context.
I was disappointed Ann targeted his/my religion TWICE in the column. I wasn’t sure if she attacked his religion because she thinks Jews are more likely to commit adultery, or more likely to use call girls, or behave as total hypocrites. Whatever her implications, his religion is NOT A FACTOR, and had no business being brought up. If Spitzer was Catholic, and Ann had made reference to that, Bill Donohue would be up in arms. And he’d be right.
Wanna make fun of The ex-gov’s education, great (I make fun of Ivy League grads all the time). His politics, fine. His immense hypocracy, ABSOLUTELY. I’ll be happy to pile on to any and all of these CHOICES.
