said school spokeswoman Catherine Sullivan-DeCarlo I would have laid odds that the school disctrict's spokeswoman would have a hypenated surname.

Are the kids in school or jail???
Stupid administrator.

In the 6th grade (~1975) a buddy of mine & I would ride our bikes to this gas station every Sunday and buy about $10 worth of candy. Each. The next day at school, we’d sell it to the other kids and a couple teachers for twice what we’d paid for it. Of course some fat kid told his dump-$hit parents who raised hell and we were told to stop. We thought we were rich.

Been there, done that. Backin the 50’s.
But, what got my attention here was that the honors student (buyer) was detroyed, the other just got a suspension,no stripping of honors.
Been there, done that, too. With my sons, early 80’s, but we won in the end.
The basic idea is to take good students down a peg. Just check and you’ll see that in most of these cases of egregious overpunishment, it’s good students being victimised.

Absolutely!! He should have been tied to the flag pole in front of the entire school body and lashed several times. Can’t allow such brazen crimes to exist. Next they may plan to use more than two sheets of toilet tissue to clean themselves.

So, if the kid had been selling broccoli, he’d be OK.

The Central Committee must be ever vigilant against counterrevolutionary thought and deed. The welfare of the proletariat is at stake and no bourgeoisie capitalist doctrine is to be tolerated. These lackeys of the power brokers start with Skittles and infect the children with their neo-con ideas that infect the collective /sarc
