Dr. Laura Schlessinger has never been one to shrink from controversy, and she leaped headlong into one on Monday when she said that if a husband cheats, his wife may share some of the blame.
When the wife does not focus in on the needs and the feelings, sexually, personally, to make him feel like a man, to make him feel like a success, to make him feel like her hero, hes very susceptible to the charm of some other woman making him feel what he needs, the popular psychologist and radio personality said.
More commonly known as just Dr. Laura, Schlessinger made the remarks while participating in one of several panel discussions on TODAY dealing with the breaking news that New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer had been connected to a high-priced prostitution ring.

She sounds like a co-worker of mine-— hubby was a horndog, no other way to put it (and yes, bastard baby from his girlfriend in the mix)
Shes stuck it out due to religious reasons. And just about the time the kids were grown, he came down with cancer-— twice. She’s still there.
No comment really.
Make that their versus there. (Sheesh)
Homophonia. That’s probably Eliot Spitzer’s excuse for cheating :-).
A term that few understand or appreciate. As I like to say, tolerating the intolerable is not a virtue.
We just pokin’ back at the silly boys.
Honestly,
what is coming down the pike is he had some twerky kinks that even scared the call girls a bit....
“Dear, may I nearly strangle you as part of our sex life?”
“Not tonight dear, I like breathing too much.”
I realized this morning that she’s using us - best friends and family - to get to him. He apparently cares what we think of him, but not enough to make sure that we keep a good opinion of him. So he enjoys the lying, I suppose.
Your saying the co-worker won’t leave him now because of the cancer? She’s lucky it wasn’t AIDS!
Truth be told, the article may be right to an extent. Joe is right in that the wife let herself go a long time ago. She was crying how she can’t live without him and I said: “You’re wrong. You’ve already been living without him for a long time.” She had to admit I was right.
The caller was obviously a low life.
I disagree-— Just read these threads....
There are some extremely shallow men who don’t even see their wives as 3 D humans....And then there is the delightful world of fake boobs, liposuction etc all to stay ‘young’ looking so hubby doesn’t dump you for a new model.
Again, it goes both ways pretty evenly.
I agree. As I said above, everything about him is Creep, and anyone with a TV or newspaper or political magazine could observe it, in public. Nothing that comes out on this story will surprise me.
For some, marriage is like an addiction you can’t shake.
Some folks fear being alone so much, they’ll endure just about anything.... Again, the hardest thing to do is take 3 steps back and think “is this right or is this purely wrong” and not be afraid to leave.

Yes. She says she wants to die and frankly I was afraid to knock on the door the day after she arrived, afraid she would have od’d. She works for a doctor and it would be easy for her to od. She says she doesn’t want to die alone. If only I could get her to see it really isn’t love for him that she has.

Sometimes the one who is most upset after each incident is over, is the friend. It's tough having to deal with a situation that one has no ability to change.
She’s mentally ill and her staying in the marriage is part of the illness.
She needs therapy ASAP and a thorazine the size of a softball.
A man says he would like his spouse to stay healthy and attractive and she hears a demand that she look like a 20 yr old. Meanwhile, he's supposed to agree and laugh along at any "funny" insult to his looks.
When was the last time a comedy on TV portrayed a husband/father as anything other than a lovable dunce? But God forbid anyone point out that Roseanne is a whiny unattractive cow.
The wisest words I ever heard were “You can’t make someone love you.”
Is yours?
If I said, then I’d be lying to you.
