We’re well into the Era of Shamelessness. There is no reason for politicians to resign anymore.

me thinks there is no way his wife is encouraging him to stay on....that’s a PR stunt to make him look stronger....it’s ridiculous.

Question from a typical NY Times reader: Is he a Republican or a Democrat?

Maybe she’s encouraging him to stay on so she can lobby for him to be impeached.

He's running the numbers.

My guess is that he does NOT resign.

It's New York.

I hope this a-wipe hangs in there forever or until the rats have to impeach him.
The longer this story hangs around, the better.

Odds are on no resignation. Spitzer will take his chances and call in debts to squirm through an impeachment. That's my prediction.

Unless.....the Federal Attorney for NY grows a pair and arrests him while he's still in NYC, which is right now.

State government remained paralyzed on Tuesday as Gov. Eliot Spitzer, reeling from revelations that he had been a client of a prostitution ring...

DNCTV just reported that this happened over 'several years'. They could save precious broadcast time by saying it was over 'a decade'.

According to aides, the governor also contemplated the possibility of impeachment charges and the legal ramifications of not resigning. But he was faced with little support among Democrats in the Legislature, with whom he has had an often contentious relationship. "An impeachment proceeding would force Democrats to either abandon him or defend him," said one leading Democrat. "They would abandon him."
I love that understatement -- "with whom he has had an often contentious relationship." And the Elephant Man had a little puffiness around the eyes.

The Albany Republicans ought to just sit back and chill and say: “what the hell, if he’s ok as your Demorat leader, being Mr. two weeks from indictment, he’s ok with us.” Then we’d see who would be calling for his resignation. He’d be gone in 48 hours.

His smart lawyer wife will not let him go ahead with his invertible resignation until he gets certain concessions from the prosecutors. Like the charges being reduced to a misdemeanor which will allow him to keep his law license.

Regards
