"George Fox" Connection to Eliot Spitzer Christmas Card
TimesUnion.com ^ | December 25, 2006 | Elizabeth Benjamin

Governor-elect Eliot Spitzer and his wife, First Lady-to-be Silda Wall, who are bent on turning over a new leaf in Albany, proved with their Christmas card that reform starts at home.

The back of the card, which includes the all-important union “bug,” reads: “Not printed at government expense.”

The photo of the family on the beach was taken by Connecticut Pamela K. Fox, who, along with her husband George Fox, a hedge fund manager, contributed some $100,000 to Spitzer’s gubernatorial campaign this election cycle, maxing out the individual contribution limits.

The Foxes are longtime friends of the Spitzers, according to a source familiar with the relationship, and the two families have vacationed together, which explains the warm-weather holiday photo.

The greeting inside the card reads: “Celebrate! With gratitude and best wishes, the Spitzers.” It’s then “signed” with copies of the real-life signatures of the whole family: Eliot, Silda, Elyssa, Sarabeth and Jenna.

If you have been following the story you will know Spitzer borrowed his George Fox's name to broker his prostitute hookups.

Eliot Spitzer is such a jerk. His most insulting crime so far has been making his wife stand with him for his pity party speech. Still, this doesn’t add up unless catching him with a hooker was a by-product of a bigger situation. Was he being blackmailed? There’s more here than meets the eye. Dems have looked the other way on much bigger “crimes” ...

Now if he had been a Republican, the MSM would take him down for jaywalking... but a dem?

Dems can drown women,

rape them,

take funds from people ripping off old people,

lie under oath,

get caught on tape buying and selling cocaine,

freezing thousands in bribe money, etcetcetc....

hell, they can have a prostitution ring run out of their basements and NOTHING happens.

Why are they going after Spitzer? And why is the MSM running it like it’s a story about a Republican?

I would like to know...

The Card is asking us to CELEBRATE. I don’t know WHAT it was that they wanted us to celebrate, did they mean Christmas? Or Kwanza? I guess I’ll CELEBRATE, just like the card said.

“Pamela better be checking up now on GEORGE”

Lots of questions, I’d bet.

“Honey, remember that trip to DC you took with Eliot...”

yeah, I read he did that but why not make up any name? Taking your good friend’s name is weird, IMO. Is he a George Fox wanna be?

Not knowing much about NY and this Gov., I have to ask ...

is there any chance he was, say, undercover and investigating?

You can see I don’t trust Dems, at all, not to pull a face on on us. This is so much bigger than say, legs under a restroom door.

I agree. Why did the wife put herself through that humiliation at the press conference?

Just my opinion, but I think he's probably heavily involved in money laundering. In any event, I hope they hang his ass!

Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy and Barney Frank were smart enough not to abandon their base. If you remember, during the Lewinsky scandal, you didn’t see any more triangulating by Bill Clinton. That’s because Clinton knew that, no matter what came out, if he stayed true to his liberal base, they would protect him.

In Spitzer’s case, he ticked off everyone. He not only threatened and tried to steamroll Republicans, he treated the Democrats like rubber stamps. Democratic chairmen who had been carrying the ball for their issues while opposing Pataki’s Administration all of sudden found that they had no say in a Spitzer Administration.

The lesson in all this is you need allies. You can’t tick off both sides of the aisle, or you may find that there’s no one to come to your defense when the heat’s on you.

I keep wondering how all this ties in with the Clintons and the election. I’m paranoid.

How he could do that to his beautiful daughters, let alone his wife, is beyond me. Dealing with what their father did is going to damage them in multiple ways — including the realization that their father cared about them so little that he was willing to risk humiliating them in order to do what he wanted to do.
