You nail him perfectly - a thug, a subverter of republican political processes, who harmed or destroyed a number of people mainly for his own political aggrandizement while AG in order to become governor, which in turn he likely imagined getting into position to be president.
I had speculated that he was the kind of guy who would in fact use hookers despite being so high profile, based on this personality, but I never ever imagined it would be confirmed.
