Snitches don’t last long in the hood. I’ve been watching this reality show “the first 48 hours”.
Basically, it follows the first 48 hours after a senseless black on black, black on white crime in an urban setting.
There is great reluctance on the part of the interviewees during initial crime scene information gathering interviews. A clear fear of retribution sometimes openly admitted during the interviews is prevalent.
Supports your claim.

First 48 Hours is a great show.
Ever wonder why they film them in black communities?

Let's see -- lovely and valuable and kind white girl snuffed by worthless black thug. Were I in "the hood," I'd think seriously about depositing the thug's corpse on the steps of the police station. There are limits to the patience of the majority community.

It's not meant to focus on black crime, it's just the way the numbers fall out.
