Cats - Chinese food-
some years ago, in Hong Kong, I saw only one cat. it was early in the morning with few people and no traffic. the cat crossed the street and looked over its’ shoulder every few seconds. it was paranoid and probably with good reason.

No cats = neck-deep in rats (and their fleas). You aren't kidding. Particularly when the norm for trash disposal in China is just to dump it in the streets.
Cats are the most ecological friendly method of rodent control out there. Their bond to humans dates back thousands of years when man first embraced agriculture and cats "adopted" man in return for keeping rodents out of our grain storage area.

I don’t trust anyone who does not like children - or cats. So I can’t trust the Chinese. Duh!

‘Holocaust’
Wow. I dunno why they would pick a title like that. Do they not understand what Holocaust means?

That country is so backwards. Poor cats.....
To: jdm
Don't these geniuses realize that if they kill too many cats, they will be overrun with something far worse: rats. And I don't mean Hillary, Barack and John.

A little rice and rat meat. Quite satisfying on a wet tropical evening.

Let’s see, we want soverienty for us but we don’t think the Chinese should have it? It is their country and they are their cats. If they want to kill them all that is their business and none of ours. We are big on screaming when Mexico’s President tries to tell us how to run the US, but we want to be able to tell China how to handle their cats. Actually some FReepers are always sticking their nose in other countries business, business that doesn’t affect us and is none of ours.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again.
Truman should have listened to MacArthur instead of firing him.
A few megatons over Beijing and Shanghai in 1946 would have solved that problem once and for all.

....in addition, the pseudo science of Chinese medicine is
busy driving a couple dozen species of wild Asian mammals into extinction. Thanks to them in a very short time the only Asian tigers left alive will be in zoos.
The level of brutality and mass killing which comes so easy and naturally to the Chinese Communist government is frightening. Within a couple years of Stalin's death he his brutality was denounced by Krushchev. Mao killed as many as Stalin in a much shorter period of time and I do not think his brutality and mass murder has ever been acknowledged much less denounced by any Chinese leader.

I’m surprised too, my experience is that the Chinese will eat just about anything that wiggles. It’s hard to believe they don’t eat cats.

The cull comes in the wake of a government campaign warning of the diseases cats carry It appears they prefer the diseases rats carry.
