OMG It's still wildly popular there. It was wildly popular in Asia when it was popular in the US. Back in the early 70’s. almost forty years, no wonder the guy snapped.

That stupid song is incredibly popular in Asia, for some unknowable reason.

I am sorry to inform you but C*ntry Roads is also very popular among European country fans and bands. Extremely disappointing.

If it had been anything by the Carpenters I would say “Not Guilty”.

But seriously how bad do you have to sing Country roads to deserve a bullet to the head.....

Almost heaven, west virginia
Blue ridge mountains
Shenandoah river -
Life is old there
Older than the trees
Younger than the mountains
Growin like a breeze

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

All my memories gathered round her
Miners lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine
Teardrops in my eye

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

I hear her voice
In the mornin hour she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
And drivin down the road I get a feelin
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
Take me home, now country roads
Take me home, now country roads

Can we get Weenus to replace that weenie from the Jackson 5, I think his name is Randy, on the judges panel of Americans Idle?

Including but not the last straw...
I suspect it was Manilow’s “Copacabana”(with the mandatory conga)...

Many years ago my husband was in Taipei and on TV there was a karaoke channel that played Country Roads over and over again. No one ever got tired of singing it or listening to it, apparently.

How many times must this happen before we finally learn?

It is not as if these crimes are not predictable...
