The newspaper accounts included regiment information and blood alcohol content. Silhouettes were used when photos were not available.

If he blew a 2.0 I think he’s be dead.
It was in Singapore I think, and I can’t believe that the President actually intervened in that. If your stupid enough to spraypaint a Mercedes in another country than you pay the price, When in Rome and all that. Made me sick they let him off, he should have paid the piper no different than if a local did it there, just like we should give the death penalty for those who deserve it here from another country whether they support it at their home country or not.
Crap, make that a .20 Your right, 2.0 he would be pushing daisies.
I know of a major that was courtmartialed after his 3d DWI.
He was busted down to E-7 (go figure). As he was over 20 years he then retired - with O-4 pay. A few months afterwards I saw him working at the Burger King on post. No lie.
Interesting. I didn’t know you could demote someone to another corps. Learn something new everyday.
LOL. You may be on to something there. . .
Drunk drivers are criminal filth who care not for anyone else’s safety, let alone their own. I’ve lost friends to drunks behind the wheel.
This general should get another star for what he did.
Where in the Bill of Rights does it say you have a right against humiliation and embarrassment?
If that were so, last year’s Dolphins would be in a crisis.
Patton slapped a few malingering soldiers IN a war zone.
Yes, he did. In a different time when our nation was brimming with patriots. These guys read everyday in just about every newspaper how they are hated. DWI or no DWI.
When Ed Koch was mayor in NYC he used to broadcast the names of men arrested that week for soliciting prostitutes on the radio during what was called “The John Hour”.
here’s an idea.
Make the legal limit 0.0%
Yeah, let’s repeal the 21st that repealed the 18th. I’m sure it will work this time. . .
No one said ban alcohol.
If you’re going out drinking, call a cab.
Simple as that.
We’ll have to agree to disagree. More money won’t fix the drunk driving problem. Harsher punishment will. This is a mild step in that direction.
MM
You might as well. By your standard, when I go to the local watering hole, have a couple of black and tans and drive home I’d be a criminal.
Sounds to me like the General is taking a legitimate pro-active stance. I hope it works because we all know what the next step will be............ the second step is punish the soldier AND his team. KP, extra duty, etc.........the possibilities are endless and totally within the bounds of the UCMJ......
I bet the convictions will be thrown out for undue influence.
In New York, you already are. 2 pints can put you over the 0.05 limit.
People don't realize how little it takes to hit that limit so they drive and get nailed at the checkpoints. Making the limit 0 would make people know not to drink at all before driving. This is the defacto law anyway.
I fyou make it 0, it won’t account for various medical issues and such. You have to account for error as well.
