Well, that shows what I know! Very interesting.

On the other hand, I would expect that a lack of contact with humans would be detrimental to the elderly. But on the other, other hand, shorter time in nursing care would be an economic advantage.

You raise a good point about human contact. I've got mixed feelings about robots in nursing homes -- even setting aside the "Terminator" scenario. I've decided that I'd rather have a smart appliance look after me, than a minimum-wage migrant worker, who hates her job, hates white men, and probably specifically hates me. From what I've been reading about government-sponsored nursing homes lately, I'd rather have Rosie.
