Derail McCain, and replace him with whom and derail him how?

With regard to “temporary workers”, the devil is in the details. I can support certain temporary worker programs, depending on the conditions. I don’t support amnesty for illegals. I do support border security. I hated the Senate bill. I don’t trust McCain to “do the right thing”. I DO TRUST billary and obama to do the WRONG thing—every single time.

Don’t know. All I know is that Bush managed to sink Mccain with one story in SC.
We need the same here. Let the convention fight it out over who should take his place...Romney, someone else, who knows?

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about the motivations of politicians - it’s self-interest and power. With Mccain as POTUS R’s will fallinto line behind Mccain no matter what he proposes. With HillObama R’s will attack her no matter what.

Republican and Democrat voters alike were outraged at the amnesty bill. It wouldn’t have been derailed if it had just been us. Even DU was up in arms over it. Obama’s a wild card, but I think Hillary would listen to the people on this one just to save her own skin. McCain won’t. It’s his pet issue and he’s an arrogant bastard who doesn’t care what we think. I will not vote for Hillary, but neither will I vote for McCain. I think this country will be better off when he slinks back home, never to be heard from again. Of course, he’s not confident enough to give up his Senate seat. This nation’s only hope is for us to elect Republican congressman who will fight against the feces that whomever is elected will sling at us.

I am with you on all points.

McCain will not be good, but Obama will be even worse.
We can and will hold McCain’s feet to the fire on the ‘secure the border’ promise. ONce we deport all undesirable aliens and make sure illegal aliens are not seeping in, we can begin to look at a non-amnesty path to getting the temporary workers needed in the economy. But it has to be 100% enforcement first and zero-tolerance on illegal immigration before we add to further legal immigration.

Btw someone commented on loss of job last month. True. But it is also true that unemplyoment is under 5%. legal immigration to this country is an asset not a detriment if done right.
