To: blam

I had gastric bypass which removes part of the upper intestine. I was insulin Type 2 diabetic. I haven’t used insulin or anything for 5 years come May of this year. I always fear it will come back, but last HBA1C was below 6 (non-diabetic).

Wow, that’s great. I have a female friend who also used surgery to reduce her weight. She looks great and claims her diabetes is under control. She had previously struggled with an A1C in the 8’s.

Its odd,we check glucose levels before meals and bedtimes on all gastric bypass patients.
We have a patient now that before surgery had elevated numbers. When he went home something went wrong and he developed problems that has now kept him in the hospital but his sugar levels are constantly normal. And it ticks me because we are charging him 4 times a day for a service he does’nt need.
