"parents who fail to [comply with school enrollment laws] may be subject to a criminal complaint against them, found guilty of an infraction, and subject to imposition of fines or an order to complete a parent education and counseling program."

Americans fought a war for independence, now it appears we need a revolution.

I am completely dumbfounded. How can people even come to such depraved minds. Whenever people mess with children and parents rights it makes my blood boil. I am blown away.

We can’t have kids at home missing out on all that taxpayer funded education about gay life styles or how to put a condom on a cucumber can we?

As I mentioned in a related thread, Californians evidently don't involve themselves in their state's legislative process. This has made them vulnerable to laws that are badly worded as evidenced by the homeschooling controversy.

I have already noted that the states made the 11th A. of the federal Constitution essentially to tell the USSC to shove it for deciding against the states in Chisholm v. Georgia, 1793. So Californians can either follow in the footsteps of the states and the 11th A. and use their voting muscle to change their state's laws, some of these laws evidently badly worded, or Californians can continue sitting on their hands, allowing themselves to be voluntary slaves to their lawmakers and judges.

A three-judge panel of the California Court of Appeal has determined parents in that state have no legal right to home school. A Christian attorney in Sacramento says unless the ruling is reversed, literally thousands of students in the Golden State will be subject to criminal sanctions. (click here for special webcast starting at 2 p.m. CST)

Attention all home-schoolers! Come to Arizona! We need more folks like you, and it's obvious the liberals in California hate you. You'll find lower taxes here, better standard of living, and self-deporting illegal aliens! And we also have Sheriff Joe Arpaio upholding the laws of our great nation!

So c'mon out and tell the remaining liberals in your state to stay where they are and drown like rats when their socialist state tanks!

Well, Hillary always said it “takes a village” to educate your kids and those who won’t let the village indoctrinate their children with the liberal sex, evolution and revisionist history propaganda should just be behind bars, I guess.

I worry about California and for the rest of our country.

You need to start “educating” them early, every secular socialist knows that. Homeschooling is a back-door way where families, communities or certain subcultures can keep out the message. It's not about what the kid knows, how well they perform on standardized tests, or the fact that they behave better, have less run ins with the law etc. It's about “what” they learn in addition to math, science, and English etc., even though that's not the official statement.

How can the government dumb-down impresionable children if they are being home schooled? Give the commies a chance...

Really, if California was not a fellow state in our union I would call for military intervention. Maybe I should anyway? That place is downright dangerous.

“Croskey refers to the “ruse of enrolling [children] in a private school and then letting them stay home and be taught by a non-credentialed parent.””

I’ll translate this into back room liberal speak:

Old man Croskey says a scam is being run by christian schools to let uneducated christian parents lock their kids up in the house all day teaching them anti-gay christian values.

And so it begins. CA is just the start. I’ve been warning of this.

If Hillary or Obama get in, expect this all over the nation. We will be like Germany, throwing homeschoolers into mental clinics because they must be “unbalanced” to have such suspicion of public schools.

The democrats are willing tools fo the NEA and teachers unions. They salivate over controlling your children.

Well this should get parents off the hook from having to read all those "lesson filled" bedtime stories asked of them by their kids, by telling them they will be considered "teaching" and will be arrested if they do or try.

(...ok....sarcasm off thingee goes in this spot....)

Tell those parents to research other states to find out which allow home schooling. Then move ASAP. After they move, they will be able to write letters to local school board officials complaining of the ruling.

Califoricated does not have a sense of humor. The state will try and collect income taxes and property taxes and motor vehicle fees plus penalties even after people move away. They are notorious for charging taxes and fees illegally.

Even retired people who move away to greener pastures will be getting BS letters from California: Claiming money is owed for wages earned years before.

NB: If you live in the Golden State, you better move away before you collect a penny of your retirement. Otherwise, you will be fighting for years over tax issues.
