He could have said "more accurate", "technologically superior", "more adaptable", or even "just f'ing cooler looking".
But more durable? Give me a break. There isn't a weapon on the planet more durable than the Automat Kalashnikov Model of 1947.

Its a lot of things, but more durable? I'm thinking COL Scott might not be a small arms specialist.
Just a guess.
Not much on earth that shoots bullets is more durable than the AK.
