“Probably some dumb kid with an ash can or an M-80. This kinda stuff would never be “internationally breaking news” 20 or 30 years ago.”

That’s what I was thinking. Some teenage vandal cherry-bombs a mailbox nowadays and you get hysterics from the media, the FBI, BATFE, local cops are running around making dire pronouncements, the NSA re-directs a satellite to monitor the situation and the mayor and governor go on TV to request more Homeland Security funds. I wanna go back to the 50’s.

Fox News radio said it shattered windows. Could be felt on the 44th floor of the Mariott. I think its more serious than just a prank.

Yeah, when, back in the day, if you got caught, about the worst was you got one helluva beating from Dad with a belt for getting in trouble. Then, after a day or two with the swelling down, might be thinking where the next cherry bombs or M-80s would go. None of this BREAKING NEWS! BREAKING NEWS!, helicopters and lock down stuff in our 24/7 hyperhysteric news cycle these days.
