because there is no drug/alcohol testing of public officials.
I wonder if anyone has ever asked a candidate if they would be willing to take drug tests?

Why are so many silly people running our governments? This is a serious problem. The citizens really need to be actively weeding out the "junk people" from decision-making positions. The question is, "How?".
