Yes, I expect so. I confess I would not know if it was a good idea or not. But I think it happened.

1. The Republican race was already decided, no competition left against McCain, so a vote on that line would only have been symbolic.

2. Some may have voted against Obama because they don’t want a black president. This could include some Hispanic Republicans.

3. Some may have voted for hillary to keep the race alive.

4. Some may have voted for hillary as the lesser of two evils.

I’m not sure if I agree with any of these reasons. Keeping the race alive probably won’t make that much difference. And I am completely unsure which of those two is worse. They are both unbelievably bad. I personally think Obama is worse, but his machine may not be as powerful as hers, so that evens it out.

Percentage of voters who say they will DEFINITELY NOT vote for:
Clinton = 47%
Obama = 43%
(average of polls)

Looks like Hillary is more beatable.
