The article is not joking. I’ve been working with dogs since 1978, and the “black dog syndrome” is common knowledge to animal professionals.
That is the stupidest “superstition” I’ve ever heard of.
I have Ibizans now, due to finding one in a shelter back in 1991 but I had Dobermans for 30 years.
The last 2 were reds but the next ones I get will definitely be black.
I actually ache for the day I get another [black] Doberman.
I LOVE black dogs.
[and my first 2 horses were black, as well, but ol’ Reb, my “heart horse” was a buckskin, through no fault of his own]....:)
To be fair, 99.9% of my clothes are black, my Yukon is black, my Harley is black and if I could get away with it, I’d paint my freaking *house* black....LOL!
