With less than 10% of precincts counting, it’s way too soon to call this one.

I expect to catch hell for this, but while I think Paul would have made a terrible President, it does look to me like he was a pretty good Congressman. His election numbers give every indication that he served his constituents well (of course I live in an area not far from where Jim McDermott wins by those margins too.)

The Congress wouldn’t be as fun without Ron Paul. We would miss out crazy uncle Ron.

Should be against FEC regs. It’s one thing not to resign while you run for a different office. It’s deplorable, IMO, to run for two different office’s at once.

Ron finally has the presidential race down to a two man contest between him and McCain. It is quite possible he could break 7% in the next primary if he hasn’t already peaked.

Paul has passed the 70% mark now with 12% of the precints to go. I tried to get some of the Paul haters to bet me on whether they really believed he’d lose to Peden or not. Oh well, could have made some easy money. I still just do not get the hatred some have towards him. Are there that many ‘conservatives’ on here that nation building in Iraq defines them?

I don't think I doubted that he would lose his seat--the whole "could Ron Paul lose?" was some phony non-story made up by the Paul haters who really only hate him because his stance on a signle issue. Winning 70+ percent of the vote, doesn't sound like he was ever in trouble.
Funny, Goldwater correctly predicted that certain people in the right would make traditional conservative ideals look liberal.

*looks at usual anti-Paul drivel*
*looks at threads whining that McCain and not a “real conservative” just got nominated and wondering where the GOP went wrong*
*shakes head, pours a drink ... makes it a double*

To my beloved America. Rest well, my lady.

I’d also like to be added to the Ron Paul ping list.

I can’t believe a party of supposed conservatives support McAmnesty over a pro-life, pro-small government, pro constitution, pro sound currency, pro second amendment, pro education reform, pro border enforcement, medical doctor turned political leader.

The world has gone insane.

If the rinos want McDole, I guess I’m taking my ball and going home.

So, here we are. We've finally come to the end of this Paul Rules/Paul Sucks road. He ain't gonna be the president, but we're stuck with him, for better or worse, in Congress. Over the last few months, as a result of these races, I've gotten to know a bunch of freepers, some who I agree with, some which I don't. They fall into 2 distinct categories...

Ehrling, Allegra, Triple E, Anymouse, and even Lormand and SJackson, y'all have been a blast to post back and forth with. You forced me to think, research and didn't let me get lazy on these threads. I've also enjoyed getting to know the personal sides of you guys as well. You're good people, and if any of you find yourself in the New York metropolitan area, hit me up and you've got a meal at my buddy's New Jersey barbecue restaurant on me (No, it's not an oxymoron, it's actually good).

I also sincerely wish the best for Mr. Peden. Even though I was rooting against him, he really does seem like a solid libertarian/conservative and a nice dude to boot. I hope we haven't heard the last of him.

Now, for those of you who had nothing but negativity and "PaulisatraitorSorosisfundingPaulPaulisaloserdopiankookPaulisaracistPaulisatruther" nonsense **coughcyclops,rooneythen00b,etc.cough**, PAUL WINS! PAUL WINS!, PAUL WINS!, PEDEN LOSES!, PAUL WINS! PAUL WINS! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! I told you so! Eat it. Let this be a lesson that jmc813 is almost always right, and that you should never doubt my knowledge ever, eeeeeeeever again. This link is for you people...

Peden got pwned

Oh, victory is so sweet. I rule.
