I received a FR Mail:     From ---------------- | 03/04/2008 8:31:37 AM PST replied

"I believe in Miracles too...."

"The Huck got my vote this morning. My husband is voting for him this afternoon."

Post Your Votes for Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter, or Fred Thompson Here!
It's Conservative Delegate Time.   Decide for the Best Nominee at the GOP Convention!

Texas GOP Conservatives:   Do NOT waste your vote by voting for Democrats.

-> (See article below: GOP Voters "Disgruntled in Texas" - Opps! )

·And no one should be voting for `corruption personified'!·

GOP Conservatives, there is conservative work to be done in the Republican Primary!

McCain does NOT need final approval today,  or this spring.   If McCain is so good,   he can wait until the convention this summer.

99 = McCain does NOT need final approval today

- - re: McC

He does NOT yet have the necessary delegate count that he needs to clinch the nomination. There is still time to derail this disaster already waiting to happen.

I think you seriously underestimate, or disregard, the antipathy that we in flyover country have for McCain. ...

Disgruntled in Texas Opps! = Apparently, they didn’t realize that by implementing Rush’s strategy, they would not be allowed to vote for any of the Republicans on the rest of the ballot.

My buddy (who also voted Hillary) heard a poll worker say to another one "call for more democrat ballots, we're almost out again!"

I think we screwed with their primary pretty good, but did the majority of us vote Hillary or Obama? I guess we'll know in a few hours.

If it's Hillary we cost the rats MILLIONS!

One Hillary supporter behind me in line told the volunteer at the republican table "I guess we know who is going to win the popular vote this year."

I smiled.

"... with little regard for the severity of their actions."

Or the consequences of rewarding RINOs who built their career by sucking up to democRATs.

Your welcome. I too was disappointed in his campaign strategy if there was ever one. I guess my sign, buttons, stickers, and cups will be collector items some day.

Of all the early candidates he and Hunter were my choices and as Hunter faded I was praying for Fred. Basically we conservatives got no choice and stuck with the ugly prom date.

Something has to be done to prevent liberal states from monopolizing the early primaries. It should be based on your turn out ratio in the last general as to who goers first. There are not enough conservatives in NH to fill one of our high school football stadiums down here. Why do they get to go first? It is BS.

Anyone remember:   + "Very Interesting!" +   ?

Well, this is interesting and I've heard this before. I'll have to include it in my assessment of GOP Primary 2008, from a conservative perspective. Provided by FR - Slump Tester - #44

"The reason we have RINO McCain is because of all the rats who voted in our open primaries and the liberal news media convincing the conservative candidates and voters that the conservative candidates had no chance. They dropped out before very many of us even had a chance to vote for them."

+ + However, I happen to think that there was a "conservative component" in the problems / failures of P-GOP-08! I've been suggesting / alledging that. Anyone agree and have something to add? Although, the current task at hand, + Vote + Huck, Hunter, or Fred!

Just got through, but the sleet pelting my face may leave a mark. I got 3 other Huckabee supporters to go out in this mess tonight too.

Go Huckabee! Go brokered convention!

I do not think people being against McCain is a childish response.
Many of us detest the way McCain has acted the last eight years.

... I think the “spoiled children” who are fighting against McCain are more concerned about the future of the country and the GOP than those who are blindly supporting him because of the R behind his name.

Yes, you gave the answer, ~ ... But, I will vote for him because I do believe there is a difference between him and (the Dems). ~

This morning, I don't want to direct that post just to you, but to all FReepers who find them in this situation, election after election...

I'm going to modify & repost it below, because it is directed to all of us on FR.

              but what...?

re: Posts # 76, 75, 55, 28:

There is this ongoing situation in the GOP, on a national level, and in the states, that FR conservatives keep finding themselves in this election situation of:

"I’m not happy with the candidate / nominee, but..."

In trying to look at the big picture:

1. What is going on? How does the GOP / FR conservatives continually get into this situation? (I kinda know the answer)

2. What are we going to do on FR (online & offline) so we don't have to face this again in 2, 4, etc. years from now?

You are not directing anything at me. You post half a comment and seemingly want to make a big deal of it.

The answer is that McCain is the Republican nominee, and even though I have big disagreements with him, I will still vote with him because he is far better than Clinton or Obama.

Furthermore, conservatives are in this position because our guys didn't win the popular vote. Why? Personally, I think it is because we fail on many levels, the primary two being are failure to communicate our positions and our stupidity in holding out for a mythological Stepford candidate. We strain at gnats and swallow camels. Until we overcome these two big hurdles, we will continue to lose elections.
