Monday’s NBC psychic crime drama "Medium" featured a plot line in which an Arizona senator and former POW is discovered to be a two-time murderer and a cannibal. While it is safe to assume that the story was written before the Hollywood writers’ strike, and before the rise of John McCain to front-runner status for the GOP presidential nomination, the blatant use of McCain’s personal history, as a politician and Vietnam POW, as grist to feed the murderous plot is obvious.

While I’m personally not a big fan of John McCain, I find this plotline a bit reprehensible...

If John McCain had the guts to actually eat another guy’s liver after killing him, I might be happy about voting for him.

No McCain fan here but that is simply over the line.
The plot was ripped from the headlines. Oh, wait... That’s Law and Order.
But you can’t mention 0’bambi’s middle name or show a picture of him gone native...

yes, and most of the other crap tv fiction writers come up with. It is as if they all have arrested development, about 12 years old mentally. They have NO sense of moral responsibility and glorify the most disgusting aspects of society. Too bad the strike is over, it is all filth to me.
NBC is the only network whose listeners would find this plotline appealing.

It’s interesting to see how reprehensible a hollywood writer feels he needs to make the McCain character in order to make sure the audience hates him. The guy can’t be a simple murderer, oh, no, he’s got to be a double murderer and a cannibal to boot. Your basic murderer is sooo pedestrian.

Hehehe - that’s why I would just as soon read a book, and I usually do, even if the tv is on...
I recall there was a sci-fi show called Sliders a few years back that depicted an alternate universe where an evil fascist dictator (overweight and Caucasian) would broadcast from a TV set identical to the one from Rush Limbaugh’s then-TV-show.
