I'm a college student, and these sort of findings make me slightly happy that I haven't jumped into the hookup scene at my school.
Good, don’t jump into it, once you start treating sex casually, you can suddenly find yourself jaded and regret it the rest of your life, man or woman.
Since you’re really in college, can you tell us if this “hook-up” stuff is as commonplace as some books and articles say? I can see the motivation for guys (sorry, but being realistic), but don’t the women feel they are acting like, well, hookers basically? Do the young people want meaningful, loving, long-term relationships? Are there two groups, those who do, and the others who just are focused on “hook-up” gratification? Or do you think most young people want marriage and real, caring intimacy but see this as some short-term lifestyle choice to “meet their needs”?
Of course don’t answer if I’m embarrassing you, but I have read about this hook-up phenomenon and find it hard to believe. Inquiring Freeper wants to know...
