Not only that, but he was apparently expecting that 3 AM call since his already in his work clothes (full suit?). If it were me and an emergency call came in, even in the white house, I wouldn't worry about first dressing up to take the call. I would answer the call in my pajamas or robe..

Is’t this they way middle easterners pronounce Pakistan? Weren’t Obama’s formative years spent in Indonesia? Maybe he speaks Farsi and whatever the other language in Pakistan is, fluently. Has anyone asked him about his childhood and the languages he speaks?

It’s one of the enduring pretenses of liberalism to pronounce foreign countries as they are pronounced in their native language, selectively affecting a non-English sound. Simultaneously signals their worldliness and their sensitivity.
One thing I loved from my time in England was how with their greater confidence in their language and greater international heritage they were unabashed in pronouncing both proper nouns regularly borrowed foreign words with an English accent.
