Huckabee revealed some unsightly things about himself during the campaign he won’t lead me anywhere. I’ll follow the Lord.

This is the second attempt I’ve seen in as many days to anoint the snake handler as some sort of vicar of supposed authority.

By hanging on way too long, he torched any chance he’ll be the Veep nominee.

He backed himself in a corner and then Romney came along to put the pin in the balloon.

There is no “new” leader of evangelical America. At least I HOPE there isn’t.

The longstanding “leader” is still Jesus. The rest are mere imperfect men like me.

IMHO, one reason for this is that McCain is so incredibly awful, no different from Hillary & Hussein except his has more serious mental issues.

He also has kept is so that McCain needs 52% of the remaining pledged delegates to secure the nomination six months from now. I believe it is a good thing, if McCain does win the nomination, that Huckabee will not be tied to that train wreck as VP.

You know the scariest thing about what you say is that it deserves serious consideration as an issue. How did any of these dregs get so close to power?

There is no way blue state Johnny is going to hitch his wagon to a Baptist firebreather. It kills his only political advantage, the ability to attract moderate Dems and independants.

When I saw the title, I thought maybe the Southern Baptist Convention had chosen a new leader while I wasn’t looking. But no.

Usually the guys at Allahpundit are pretty smart, but evidently Evangelical conservatism is outside their area of expertise.

Whatever the huckster is leading, I will not be following. He needs to go back to Hope, if they would have him.

Agreed - bizarre (and misleading?) headline.

Real evangelicals have only one leader.
