McCain has made some assurances as to the type of judges he will appoint. I take some comfort in that.Yes, I know, the proof is in the pudding, and we will ahve to push hard, but at least there is the hope. You comment does not refute what we are sure to get if Hillary or Obama gets to pick 2-3 justices.
That is absolutely correct.
And your comment offers only 'hope'. If I am going to have to fight tooth and nail either way, at least the Dems will not have the automatic support of the Repubs in the House and Senate.
My lack of support for McCain does not exist because I am angry or pouting or taking my toys and going home (I think I've hit on all the typical buzz accusations). I was opposing a liberal Republican candidate way back before Rudy's nomination was presumed. If the Republican party is going to implode, it will do so without my assistance. Compromise so that the lesser evil can win -- been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
If you don't want a liberal in the White House, voting for a liberal is not the answer. We can argue about the degree of liberal all day long.
If you are comfortable with your decision to support McCain, I can respect that. You should know that I have not arrived at my decision to not support McCain flippantly or without thorough considerations.
