...can be legally imported into Mexico.

This is probably a Mexican government action to protect the auto theft racket. The result will be more cars stolen here and taken "illegally" to Mexico.

You do realize the US violates NAFTA on trucking and an assortment of issues.

Good. NAFTA is nothing but a global wealth redistribution scheme wrapped in the same tired old lies and circular logic.

we needed to “stop the accelerated conversion of our country into the world’s biggest automotive garbage dump.”

So, Mexico has more junk cars than Arkansas? That would be something to see.

"So, this is why I have been seeing strings of old cars and trucks on I20 heading to El Paso. Driving the best one towing another and followed by two others doing the same."

It's been happening for decades here on I-10 through the SE into Texas and points beyond.

Well, I’d say it’s time a smart Genny car parts dealer opens up there. Since California has tried to eliminate wrecking yards, maybe we can find our parts in Mexico.

I’ve seen that for probably five years now on US 59 in SW Houston.

Yep same thing on I-10, I-35 and I-45.... You’ll find several running together with each towing at least one vehicle. I’ve seen two in tow or a truck with one on the bed and one in tow. Also they will have a lot of other used stuff such as bicycles, washers, refrigerators, household stuff, anything to make a buck.

Typical protectionist dribble.
You do realize the US violates NAFTA on trucking and an assortment of issues.

Liberalization on cars was part of NAFTA. And like many parts of it implementation has been pushed back by retarded protectionist/socialist.

Yikes...there we go again...calling the critics of free trade “protectionists”

It is obviously stupid, and non free market, to continue to let Mexico violate the Non American Foul Trade Agreement while busting American companies’ chops when they “violate”

As for Mexican trucks.....if they arent safe, and do not meet standards...they cant be on US roads. Only a fool or free trader claims that the Mexican trucks are safe

So well put

NAFTA and similar trade deals are really nothing more than wealth redistribution scams.....only that free traders just arent stone enough to make the full move to Socialism/Communism

Does this mean I’ve got to sit up at night and post guard on my ‘98 Explorer?

Interesting thought...... I wonder about all those vehicles that are stolen and ran across the border.... Mexico can’t be doing something to help stop the thieves....

How do I make it clear? I have seen this for years, but not in the numbers of the last six months.

"Satire?"

Unfortunately, no. And Hillary whose HINO Bill put NAFTA through, is going to fix it? What then - In 2024 Chelsea runs to fix her Mom's FUs?

Sounds like perfect job security to me. /s

Was in El Paso in ‘68, while at Ft. Bliss.

We went to a theater by the bridge to Juarez. Actually saw 2 movies and in between heard a great pipe organ that came up out of the stage.

Is that theater still there? Anyone remember it?
