Thing is, she has seriously damaged the Clinton brand the way she’s run her campaign, and she’s gotten easier to beat if she wins the nod. The members of the VRWC never liked her, of course, but now there is a Vast Left Wing Conspiracy that hates her guts too. That would cost her, big time. And I can see a lot of moderates and independents going for McCain before they go for her.
I was thinking about that the other day. Before this train wreck of a campaign, both Bill and Hillary commanded big advances from publishers and big fees for speeches.
I doubt that's going to continue. Now I think they've finally gone and done what I'm sure they thought was impossible: overexposed themselves to the point that America is just plain tired of them.
