Fri show ping. Howie’s back, without glasses.
He called in during the final hour last night to report
to Col. Hunt and sounded...relaxed (cue: sound of drink
being poured, but it was probably the drugs!)

And WRKO will be carrying the annual St Patrick’s Day breakfast (formerly hosted by The Corrupt Midget) this year
with Tom The Felon as host. It’s the hackerama!

When all the pols get together for bad jokes and corned beef and cabbage.

WRKO-AM (680) plans to broadcast the annual yuckfest. And guess whose doing his show live from the early-morning roast?

Tom Finneran, of course. The former House Speaker was a roast regular. Below is the station’s release:

WRKO PROVIDES EXCLUSIVE RADIO COVERAGE OF THE ANNUAL
ST. PATRICK’S DAY BREAKFAST
BOSTON, MA (March 6, 2008) – Boston’s Talk Station, WRKO AM 680 will be the only radio destination for complete coverage of the annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast. WRKO’s coverage will begin on Sunday March 16 at 8 a.m. with a special edition of Finneran’s Forum live from the Boston Convention Center, site of the this year’s breakfast.

Joining Finneran during the two hour pre-show will be Congressman Stephen Lynch, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray, Senate President Therese Murray and Speaker Salvatore DiMasi. Also scheduled to appear are Representative Brian Wallace, City Council President Maureen Feeney, Councilors Michael Flaherty and Bill Linehan.

“It’s great to be a part of this year’s event and I’m thrilled to give the WRKO listeners an inside look at this Boston tradition,” said Tom Finneran, WRKO Morning Show Host.

At 10 a.m. WRKO will broadcast the breakfast in its entirety which will also be simulcast on CN8. The St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast is a Boston tradition in which local political figures take time out to roast each other on the topics of the day. In 2005 the breakfast was moved into its current home at the Boston Convention Center.

“WRKO is pleased to be the exclusive radio home of this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast,” said Jason Wolfe, Entercom Boston Vice President of AM Programming and Operations. “There is no better radio host to take listeners behind the scenes of this Boston institution.”

Dapper O’Neill used to say why the heck would he want to go to an event where you were stuck for three hours and couldn’t
get out to take a crap, or something.
