A few things that makes this poll even better for McCain.
1) The LA Times’s poll is notorious for undercounting the GOP Vote.
2) Obama has only experienced very gentle press up til now.
3) Obama’s record and background have not been looked at by the vast majority of Americans yet. A similar situation occurred last year when Rudy was in first place among conservative and GOP voters...well that was before they knew his record.
I feel very confident that McCain will win this. If we play our cards right we might even win big enough to take back the House and the Senate.
It's going to take WORK. Like making donations. Talking up the candidates to your friends and acquaintances. Attending events.
That horrible human being, Nancy Pelosi, cannot be gone soon enough for me.
“If we play our cards right we might even win big enough to take back the House and the Senate.”
That’s a mighty big ‘if.’ GOP isn’t called the Stupid Party for nothing. If they were we’d be majority today.
I feel very confident that you have been smoking some really bad crack.
I like the way you think!
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
If the RNC and the McCain campaign can overcome their natural dullwittedness, they will be well-advised to study the Nixon - McGovern campaign of 1972. Nixon was not a well-liked candidate, not a movement conservative, he was devoid of charisma, but he demolished McGovern--and without actually needing the dirty tricks that surfaced later.
There is a model there for handling an opponent driven by leftwing ideologues, and McCain can use some guidance from history.
