Texas Democrats Fret About Possible Lawsuit (from Clintons)

Texas Democrats Fret About Possible Lawsuit

Nick Timiraos reports from Houston on the presidential race.

Democratic Party officials have raised concerns that expected record turnout for next Tuesday’s Texas presidential primary and caucuses could be marred by a lawsuit from the Clinton campaign over the party’s election rules, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported today.

On a conference call with reporters this morning, David Plouffe, campaign manager for Sen. Barack Obama, blamed Sen. Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the row, suggesting that the Clinton camp wanted to slow or stop reporting of the caucus tally on election night. “They do not want the caucus results reported on Tuesday night,” Plouffe said. “There is timely reporting and the Clinton campaign has deep anxiety about that.”

Obama has done better in caucuses than in primaries, and an attempt to slow the public release of caucus results on Tuesday night would benefit Clinton, particularly if she were to win the primary but fall short of Obama in the delegate tally.

Plouffe accused the Clinton camp of ratcheting up legal measures to a “new level” after the Nevada unions that supported the Clinton campaign had sued last month to shut down certain Nevada caucus sites for casino workers after the Culinary Workers Union endorsed Obama. Clinton won more votes in the Nevada caucus, but Obama held a one-delegate advantage in the delegate tally.

Texas Democratic Party lawyer Chad Dunn sent a letter to both campaigns late Thursday to warn that “such action could prove to be a tragedy for a reinvigorated Democratic process.” Dunn said that one or both campaigns may already be preparing legal action against the state party.

Her internal poll numbers must not be too good. I’ll bet if she wins, then the way the Texans count the votes will be great.

From what I understand, the Texas Democrat party has a real screwball method for awarding delegates, with heavy weighting given to minority precincts. So Hillary could win the most votes in Texas and Obama could still get a sizeable majority of the delegates.

If she’s pulling these kinds of stunts on eve of the Texas Primary, imagine what kind crap she would pull as President...

Hey If I am Hillary, I wouldn’t want the bad news to hit airwaves, when my entire plan is to SPIN narrow popular vote victory as change in direction of Dem Party and begenning of new momentum.

If people find out “un-important” things like loss in delegate count, that could mess things up.

The latest was several years ago. A DNA match didn’t work. What is interesting is that the DNA info about Clinton was limited info within the Starr Report. If Danny has reached majority, he should sue Clinton and make him take a DNA test.

Ref posts #30 & #31:

Yes, thank you. I came across a post of yours (posted several years back) and that article several days ago which reminded me I hadn’t heard anything about Danny Williams since then. I thought I would ask you next time I saw you on FR.

Hillary is a woman without a moral compass to guide her. She has resorted to gimmicks, sympathy ploys, scolding screeches, arrogant inevitable iron woman, feel sorry for me, it's so hard tears to get to her dream goal.

Finally finding that Americans do not want her/his "Retread Administration", the same old Washington insider establishment, they have to launch petty lawsuits to win?
