He won't be given the benefit of doubt because many of his actions over the past decade have agreed with his slip, not his correction.Always best to compare what he says with what he's actually done...just make sure you haven't eaten first...'tis not for the faint of heart.

Oh BTW, McCain corrected himself,... The trouble with "correcting" a freudian slip, is that it's not really a "correction", is it?

Freudian Slip - a slip of the tongue that is motivated by and reveals some unconscious aspect of the mind
Yep, he meant what he said the first time.

Ronald Reagan slipped up once upon a time, campaigning for Governor of California I believe, when he was quoted as saying...
Taxes should hurt!
...yet his Returns showed that the Reagans, that particular year, owed NONE!
He LEARNED from that mistake. Can Juan McCainez still learn...or is it too late? While exploring that possibility, however, please excuse me as I must go...
...Cheer for Obama! who is on the verge of wiping the vile stench of Clintonia OFF THE POLITICAL MAP!!

Ahem. If I actually agreed with that, I would vote McCain, but I see exactly where that line of thinking has bought us.

The other fact is that McCain, even as a RINO, is firmly to the right - even if hes not far to the right - of these Demonrat pretenders. I agree that either Hillary or Obama will attempt to harm America more than McCain, however, I believe that McCain will succeed in more of that harm.
When Hillary or Obama try to harm America, all Republicans in Congress (except for McCain and his ilk), will fight against them. When McCain proposes legislation to harm America, many Republicans will support him out of party loyalty, and virtually all Democrats will support him, because he will be doing what they want.
We recently saw this in Nevada, with our former (RINO) Governor. Kenny Guinn proposed, and got, the largest tax increase in state history, during his second term. This succeeded because all Democrats supported the tax hikes, and many Republicans supported the Governor. A Democrat Governor would have failed.

I am anything but a McCain supporter, but I believe this was merely a slip of the tongue. President GW Bush’s many verbal errors prove someone can be a good (maybe Great) president and still make these kind of mistakes.

Too bad people didnt see this six months ago when we actually had a choice to keep him out.Maybe if some of us had the chance to vote earlier, we could have done something. the Primary system is a kluge, and we're paying for it now.
