Who watches these shows? I never do.
All you need to know: “Reality TV” is an oxymoron.
bleah
Oh, well. It’s a Free Republic.
It doesn’t matter, they are cheap to make.
TV is following the Wal-Mart Model.
Welcome to the new Circus and the Dole. Treadmill to Bucks and the Running Man is not far behind.
“It doesnt matter, they are cheap to make.
TV is following the Wal-Mart Model.”
bingo- they have zero production value, that lowers the cost considerably. couple that with the fact TV is dumbed down to it’s audience that will watch anything that’s broadcast, and you have a winner.
If they did it secretly without their consent then I would consider it immoral. Either way I have no desiere to watch one. I can't even understand why others would want to watch them.
It’s as real as the WWE..
No Tv is following the microwave model (fast and cheap). If they were following the wal-mart model we’d be watching reality shows with chinese people we couldn’t understand.
On a classic tv show message board, people were griping about the downfall of the TV Land channel. They’ve aired more recent tv shows that arent classics, movies, and are about to air a brand new reality show called High School Reunion. One person on the board said that she managed to get ahold of an executive who worked for TV Land, and he said that buying the rights to brand new programs was cheaper than buying the rights to old classic tv shows.
Over the years I found I was watching T.V. less and less. There are shows an intelligent person can watch but there is so much garbage. About 6 months ago I got fed-up with it all and now I don’t even have a T.V. in the house. It has been a blessing not to have T.V. at all. Getting rid of it has given me a sense of peace and independence. I don’t say that everyone should cut out T.V. but some people might find it to be a rewarding experiment.
I'm telling you -- the Bad Wolf Corporation is behind it all.
Another title could have been, "Some Reasons I don't have a Reality Show".
My daughter’s lead guitarist was on a reality show on MTV a few years back. He said the producers stated that the show was getting a little boring so they had him and another band member stage a blowup between them.
Not us either, ever, of any kind. We hate those shows.
“Step aside, crime dramas. There’s a new sheriff in town.”
I have no love of reality shows, but thank God we are getting away from crime dramas.
There’s a link on Drudge today about how 1% of the US population is currently incarcerated. Maybe there’s a connection to the fascination with all things crime.
