There is not even a lot of controversy over temperature readings I disagree with my idol Dr. Sowell on this particular point.

I love these pings. Thanks.
It is so nice to read Mr. Sowells articles. They are just the right length. They are timely. And it is so nice to read the writings of someone who can just...think...and is not afraid to put it on 'paper'.

Professor, it's no longer
Global Warming because of the inconvenient truths you point out. It is now
Global Climate Change. Now, unexpected cold snaps as well as heat waves can be blamed on Anthropogenic CO2 Emissions.

No, you misunderstand. This conference is to explore the other side, whether global warming hysteria might be a hoax.

I’m sure the pro-global warming conferences include a variety of scientists with diverse points of view on this subject?

Im sure the pro-global warming conferences include a variety of scientists with diverse points of view on this subject? There's no such thing as a pro-global warming conference. Scientists never-to-rarely get solicited for $1000/head to attend meetings that are intended to influence international media coverage of a scientific issue.
Think I'm kidding?
Heartland Institute Invitation Letter to Climate Change Conference
"The purpose of the conference is to generate international media attention to the fact that many scientists believe forecasts of rapid warming and catastrophic events are not supported by sound science, and that expensive campaigns to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are not necessary or cost-effective."
That appears to be paying for the conclusions you want to hear in advance, doesn't it?
To: jazusamo
"The bigger problem is that this has long since become a crusade rather than an exercise in evidence or logic."
Sowell his the target dead center.

A whole cottage industry has sprung up among people who get grants, government agencies who get appropriations, politicians who get publicity and the perpetually indignant who get something new to be indignant about. Click here for a nice writeup of that cottage industry, on display recently in Bali.
