Never happen. Cunningham was used and abused. A “private meeting” between him and McLame isn’t gonna get the job done.

The consequences are that Cunninham probably will get a national talk show now and McCain will lose even more supporters.

Doubtful, on both counts.

But consider the consequences of Cunningham's actions. If you're right, who's Cunningham hurting most? That's right ... all of us. Boy, now there's a heroic fellow.

I don’t like McCain but I don’t believe it. Cunningham comes off as a self-centered unstable nut.

“The consequences are that Cunninham probably will get a national talk show now and McCain will lose even more supporters.”

Will this be after Cunningham retracts his national news statement that he’s now going to vote for Clinton as his reply to McCain’s remarks?

Then, enjoy your “walk” over the cliff with McQueeg! Public opinion is turning against him and so has the base. His only option is to bow out gracefully, admitting that he has no chance without conservative support.

Balancing that is that Cunningham was interviewed on every single alphabet network in the universe yesterday.

So, he got to explain on national TV that using a guy’s middle name is no big deal.

I heard him say to Alan Colmes, I think: “Ronald WILSON Reagan, William JEFFERSON Clinton....” He added that it’s common to use a president’s middle name. (Hillary RODHAM Clinton.)I’m sure it resonated.

Cunningham makes McCain appear reasonable....John’s camp used him to make a national statement. It worked.

Hmmmmmm... time will tell. I sure wouldn't bet on it.

Which votes will he lose? The "pout in the corner conservative" vote?

Maybe.

Would he have gotten it anyway?

I give you 2006.

Will this actually lose him votes?

Probably; it will depend upon how Cunningham responds. There are people who call talk shows daily. Nobody knows how much the effect will be. Were I one of McCain's people, I'd be on the phone begging for forgiveness.

IMO it won't happen; this is an Islamic Marxist's election to lose in a Bob Dole redux because McLame will do the famed RINO swan dive.

You can thank the RNC.

For another, Cunningham is a hometown favorite, everyone knows his style, and they like him. I’d say that market research must show that, because he is spokesperson for a HUGE number of companies who use him in their advertisements....everything from cars to windows to potato chips.

Well BluH20 lives in the area and hadn't heard of Cunningham. I tried to do a google search and see what Cunningham's Arbitron ratings were, but no dice. My guess is he probably isn't top ranked in overall ratings, but has carved himself out a niche and his popularity is based on his rantings like a crazy uncle, which IMO, belies your contention that Cunningham is a leader, while most people think of him as an entertainer.

McCain is looking to be Secretary of Defense in the Hussein Administration, so he can’t criticize his future boss, other than to show his gravitas when it comes to managing the war. A vote for McCain is a waste, another instance of McCain stabbing Republicans in the back. If it is too late to do something at the convention, get practiced at saying President Hussein. The big fix is in, from the softballs the NYT is rolling to McCain to Obama’s messianic rise on the pop charts. ...Is it true? I don’t know, but with these clowns you have to consider all the possibilities. McCain may not be in this thing to win it. For sure he isn’t in it for Republicans, and he will end up being against conservatives, no matter what happens.

I disagree. He comes across as a “live wire” talk show host. He’s been that way for years. But, he’s also extremely bright, and he’s well-liked around here.

“Well, Bill and I disagree on using the Hussein middle name, but we’re both conservatives and on the same team. I realize he was warming up a crowd for a political event.”

Exactly. I have a really hard time picturing a Reagan or even a Bush or a Ford doing this sort of thing. McCain was ham-handed and disloyal . . .

Oh yes I know, I didn’t mean HIM to run against McCain/Hussein in 2012, I meant we need to keep an eye out for a candidate, you never know.

Hussein came from nowhere on the backs of the MSM, maybe we can do the same to a Conservative.

Altho McClintock could become McCain’s “maverick”, for the next four years! lol

It’s McCain’s way of telegraphing to Hillobama: “please don’t use the NVC files you have on me”.

Why note force him to withdraw. I think freepers who are against McCain should all get together in DC with Limbaugh and most talk radio show and force McCain to resign. Also you can appoint Limbaugh/Coulter as your President/Vice President candidate and win the country 50 states and 99.99% of the vote, you may also win 99.999999% of the vote.

It doesn’t really matter, if the goal is a contested convention, what Huck stands for . . .

That said I think Huck is a conservative. You bought into the opposing campaigns characterizations I think.
