The NYT propaganda machine is trying to push what they think are conservative buttons. They think that they are driving conservatives away from McCain. Thus they accuse him of marital infidelity, something that no Dem would care about, but Republicans would. They accuse him of being a foreigner, something no Dem would care about, but Republicans would.
Maybe the NYT thinks that because they regularly read posts from long time FReepers who are dissing McCain even more than they are.........
As for me, he has my vote. Like Dennis Miller says, he’s the only one willing to go after the bad guys.
On its face the statement seems silly since conservative ideologues have already roundly and very publicly rejected McCain.
Best guess is they are trying to drive a wedge between McCain and Reagan Democrats.
