Rule 20-3.4.5 in the 2008 NASCAR rule book reads, in part: “The lubrication oil reservoir tank encasement cover must be constructed using magnetic sheet steel, a minimum 22 gage (0.031 inch thick) and must not be fastened with quick release fasteners.’’ Want more? PLUS, all screws are to be taped over preventing them from coming loose.
