How Dare Russert Do His Job? No One Questions The Messiah!
RightVoices ^ | Wednesday, February 27, 2008 | "Pam"

Of all the nerve! He had the audacity to ask the Messiah some questions about his church and supporters. Transcript via Don:

MR. RUSSERT: ...On Sunday, the headline in your hometown paper, Chicago Tribune: "Louis Farrakhan Backs Obama for President at Nation of Islam Convention in Chicago." Do you accept the support of Louis Farrakhan?

SEN. OBAMA: You know, I have been very clear in my denunciation of Minister Farrakhan's anti-Semitic comments. I think that they are unacceptable and reprehensible. I did not solicit this support. He expressed pride in an African-American who seems to be bringing the country together. I obviously can't censor him, but it is not support that I sought. And we're not doing anything, I assure you, formally or informally with Minister Farrakhan.

MR. RUSSERT: Do you reject his support?

SEN. OBAMA: Well, Tim, you know, I can't say to somebody that he can't say that he thinks I'm a good guy. (Laughter.)

...

RUSSERT: The title of one of your books, "Audacity of Hope," you acknowledge you got from a sermon from Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the head of the Trinity United Church. He said that Louis Farrakhan "epitomizes greatness." He said that he went to Libya in 1984 with Louis Farrakhan to visit with Moammar Gadhafi and that, when your political opponents found out about that, quote, "your Jewish support would dry up quicker than a snowball in Hell." ...
Via meme, you can see that the left is unhinged about this: Russert's Lowest Moment (And That's Saying A Lot)

Am I the only one here who thinks it’s ridiculous for candidates to tell certain people not to vote for them?

I *demand* that you not vote for me.

Yeah, that sounds a little weird.

How about Achmed Amanutjob’s endorsement: Would B. Hussein Obama reject THAT endorsement?

Or Muckie Sadr’s endorsement? Would Not-THAT-Hussein reject his endorsement?

I think you will find that the boundaries of the debate will have changed from the days when Goldwater was repeatedly asked if he would renounce his endorsement by the KKK (an obvious attempt by the Drivebys to brand him a racist).

My Fellow Americans, vote for the cultist, or the other cult (socialist), or the one wanting to reward the criminals for breaking and entering and is ready to take away Free Speach....and be Happy!

You can just barely see George Soros' hand (George is seated to the right of the stairs), you can barely see his hand up there, moving Obama's lips.

One of the reasons we learned nothing about the candidates is that Russert spent the entire debate asking “gotcha” type questions. He seemed to think the debate was all about his “tough questioning” rather than the positions of the candidates.

Tim is the only journalist so far to pressure Hillary about the source of her campaign loan. Where did the $5M come from that she lent to her campaign. I think that is a serious and legit question. She refuses to disclose her tax returns and that only enhances the perception that she is getting illegal campaign funds. She is ALWAYS on the fringe of being proven corrupt. Her pattern of secrecy and special-interest money behaviour is very disturbing. The press should be pressing harder on this issue overall.

ask them not to support him; not to give speeches

you have to wonder why farakkhan went out of his way to endorse obama if obama is what he says he is.

Wise up joebuck.

Tim Russert is as partisan a Democrat as you'll ever find. His purpose was to appear tough on Obama, whom he probably supports at this time, so that Obama would appear capable of handling tough questions. Russert ain't runnin' no reality show. It's theater.

Right now, no Democrat gives a rat's patoot about Obama's position on anything. He is the candidate by acclamation. He is not Mrs. Bill Clinton. That's plenty good enough right now. As far as positions go, as soon as the witch is really dead, the Democrat pundits, including Russert, will come together and give the Golden-Tongued Annointed One all the positions he needs.

BTW, you see the way my man Obama handled that tough old Russert's questions? He was gooood!

So, given the comments of his pastor what redeeming values does he have that keeps Mr. Obama coming back when he professes to disagree with so many of them? Aren’t there other churches he could go to that would be more appropriate with his views?
