As a former constitutional law professor, Barack Obama understands and believes in the constitutional right of Americans to bear arms. He will protect the rights of hunters and other law-abiding Americans to purchase, own, transport, and use guns for the purposes of hunting and target shooting.
A "former" constitutional law professor. And obviously not a very good one.

"Former constitutional law professor" is an ambiguous term. There are almost 200 countries in the world, and most of them have constitutions. Maybe he is an expert on the constitution of Kenya or that of Indonesia.
Or he could be a specialist on former constitutions that are no longer in use.
With so much to know, one can't reasonably expect him to understand the U.S. Constitution.
