“If the GOP voted as I do - understand the issues and vote conservatively, we wouldn’t be in the fix we’re in.

And if I’m not the problem... I guess that means YOU are.”

Yes, I am indeed part of the problem. Even though I supported real conservatives until they dropped out of the race, I am a part of the problem.

I knew before this years primaries that the RNC allowed open voting and that the schedule was lining up to allow the most liberal states in the country to begin the nomination process and I did nothing to stop it. Did you?

I have known for some time now that liberal elitists like Mccain and Martinez were running the RNC, and I did nothing to change that. Did you?

I have watched my country and my party move steadily left for more than twenty years now and I wrongly thought that I could change that by simply working for more conservative candidates and voting. Did you do something different than me?

I voted for Bush in 2000 not because I though Bush was a conservative, for heaven sake, he called himself a compassionate. But I knew Al Gore was even worse. I was right of course, Al Gore would have been even worse.

I voted for Bush again in 2004 because Bush was far better than John Kerry. I was right again, he was far better than John Kerry, who is an outright national traitor.

And like many of my conservative brothers and sisters, I got involved early and held on tight to “my conservative” and failed to help fellow conservative UNITE behind one winning conservative to block McCain from becoming the unlikely nominee.

What did you do better than me? I’m always open to learn... I am part of the problem. If you’re not, tell me how?

Again, I do not accept your premise.

Could it be possible that those responsible for the current conservative crisis are those who... didn't vote for the conservative candidates? Those who didn't arm themselves with the facts, who believe differently than we do and/or are ideologically lost?

Here's what I think: the ones who voted intelligently based upon conservative principals aren't to blame - the ones who didn't are. Profound, right?

I'll continue to debate within my circle of acquaintances & try to convince them my thinking is correct and I will continue making the best of the choices available at election time. But to blame me and those like me for the current conservative meltdown is the very definition of adding insult to injury. I flatly reject the assertion.
