The problem with a small kid doing this is other kids are so impressionable. I have a 6-year old son and I see it all the time. One kid brings a Pokeman card to school and all of a sudden a trend is started. All the kids go home and say Dad I want Pokeman Cards. One kid wears a Spiderman sweatshirt and all the other boys want one.
Pokeman cards and Spiderman sweatshirts are innocent trends that most parents can deal with, however a Mohawk is repulsive to many Parents and Grandparents who just want Johnny to have a normal haircut. I think the school is doing the right thing. If the parents want him to have a Mohawk, then let him have it during the Summer months.
