McCain's strategy is to avoid criticizing his opponents directly - not because he likes Obama, but it is his and his campaigns belief that the best way for him is to stay out of and away from the mud strategy. He may actually be right and I agree with his strategy.
So if some local talk show host is speaking as part of your campaign operation at one of your official events, you need to follow the gameplan. And since this guy went off script, McCain had to repudiate his language.
Really, ALL of the blame for this lies on McCain's staffers for not knowing the host and not giving him a briefing on the company line. Then Cunningham could either play ball or just not be part of the event.
I think he needs to grow up and so do all of you ripping McCain for this. Rip him for other stuff, but not for apolitical component of his strategy (oh - and one that Obama is using, too).
,
According to Cunningham, he WAS briefed. He was specifically told to go out there and give 'em "red meat."
So now who ya gonna blame?
How many people will McCain use and then toss under the bus when he finds it convenient?
And you want Cunningham to grow up? Amazing.
If the "script" says that nobody can mention Barack Hussein Obama's name, or even just the middle part of it, the "script" is a loser. We shall see, won't we?
Just when some of us were beginning to think of voting for McCain, he pulls this politically correct crap. It reminds us of who he really is.
And you never wonder about if it was a good strategy?
Just think about it!
The strategy should be no attack on Hussein obama?Fine!
Who is the strategist?
It supposes that Hussein O. CAN’T be attacked...?
I have some serious doubdts
I think he needs to grow up and so do all of you ripping McCain for this.
Thanks for today's dose of McCainiac condescension.
Keep in mind, the Democrats never missed an opportunity not too long ago, to call another senator by his middle name. And today that individual isn’t in the senate. The Democrats get to use a ploy, but Republicans better not!
Do you recall a candidate whose middle name is Felix?
