Did you hear Cunningham say now that Mccain threw him under the bus that he won’t support him, he isn’t conservative and in the mold of Ann Coulter he will support Hilary.
Yes on Hannity and Colmes. Not absoluitely sure he meant it.
And McCain really doesn’t care... I’ve always thought that McCain and staff were crafty political operators (i.e. they almost beat Bush in 2000 and just won a nomination they shouldn’t have) and it wouldn’t shock me if they manufactured a Sister Soljiah moment with a nutty right-wing talk show host. It got him great press with the MSM; I saw quite a few blogs/ stories commenting on his decency.
(BTW, Cunningham whining on Hannity and Colmes kinda just emphasizes the point. Perhaps he’s dense, but by continuing to whine, Cunningham’s just helping McCain with the indies).
Yep, I heard that...there are a lot of conservatives saying that.
Why was he yelling the entire time he was on hannity and colmes tonight?...or is he just hard of hearing?
Anyone who supports McCain and doesn’t expect betrayal is a fool.
I saw that piece with Cunningham saying “That’s it! I’m done with him!”
Only one question, Bill—what took ya so long? ;-)
Personally, I think Cunningham was set up when he was told to provide a lot of “red meat” so McCain could find something to apologize for. The McCain operatives wanted to play the media and avoid bad coverage of the DNC pounding McCain on campaign financing. Below is a statement from McCain’s Communications Director Jill Hazelbaker:
In contrast, Howard Dean and the Democratic National Committee leadership have launched a personal and negative assault on Senator McCains character. Howard Dean himself questioned Senator McCains integrity, and a DNC official called McCain a liar.
We agree with the Obama campaigns statement today that this debate should be respectful and focused on issues, and it would be encouraging to see Senator Obama denounce the character attacks coming from the leadership of his Party. Jill Hazelbaker
