"You can learn a lot more from a hard drive than what's in the current set of files. There are ways of getting to the deleted stuff, even if it's been over-written."

Hence my post asking why they don't just take the HD instead of the whole case, motherboard, processor, etc.... all of which do not store any data, ever. And if they gave the company 10 minutes they could image their drive, give the FBI the original so that they can perform all the data forensics to their heart's delight, and then place that drive image on a brand new HD, plop it into their computer, and not miss a beat.
