Obama Overtakes Hillary In Texas

It's starting to look like next Tuesday could be Hillary's last stand.

A new CNN /Opinion Research poll finds Obama ahead of Hillary Clinton Texas 50%-46%. In a similar poll taken a week before, Hillary held a 50%-48% lead.

Keep in mind these numbers are within the polls sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points for Democratic respondents, so statistically, the race is a virtual tie.

The poll was conducted February 22-24.

Even Bill Clinton concedes that a loss in Texas or Ohio would doom Hillary's candidacy:

"If she wins Texas and Ohio I think she will be the nominee. If you don't deliver for her, I don't think she can be. It's all on you," the former president told the audience at the beginning of his speech.

Yesterday, Hillary advisor Harold Ickes, "dropped a hint that March 4 will produce a decision point":

"I think if we lose in Texas and Ohio, Mrs. Clinton will have to make her decisions as to whether she moves forward or not," he said. He paused, then added: "as she has at the end of every other state."

According to the Houston Chronicle, Ickes would not go as far as Bill Clinton and proclaim Texas and Ohio must-win states:

"I wouldn't want to fly in the face of President Clinton," Ickes said. "What I will say is it is important that she do very, very well."

There is still a week before the Texas primary, but unless Hillary pulls off one of those miracles Mike Hukabee is still looking for, we can stick the fork in this campaign.

I had this vision that other night that Obama would crush Hillary in the primary but she would win the convention via trickery.

Trickery or worse. I wonder if Obama is nervous about getting on an airplane.

I want to see her gone once and for all. She's the devil we know. She's the evil one in female flesh. I want her crushed so that she can't possibly get the nomination.

We'll deal with the devil we don't know after he seals the nomination. Too bad he's going against mclame. I have long said I would never vote for him. Sigh, I may have to re-think my position. Of course, being in MI, it probably won't matter whether I vote for him or not.

I’m guessing that she stays in, hoping to screw Obama at the convention. I’m also wishing her success in that effort. What fun it will be to watch that.

So, I originally intended to cross over and vote for Obama when Hillary had the lead. Now what? I'm in a real dilemma. I hate to see Hillary hanging around any longer than absolutely necessary. Heck, she's already starting to look like the picture of Dorian Gray. However, I'm seriously hoping for a cat fight all the way to the convention. Neither candidate can get enough delegates without the Supers, but would that b!tch double cross me and fold with two pair before drawing her last card?

What do Freepers think? It's like the Lady or the Tiger, except it's more like the b!tch or the Marxist in an empty suit.

I will not consider Hillary dead until the coroner puts a toe tag on her.

I would have to see a stake firmly implanted in her chest.

The positive aspect of this , Obama as Dem nominee certainly makes it easier for McCain to win states like Michigan, Ohio etc in the Nov elections.

see, maybe its just my mistrust of the Clintons (which goes beyond my general mistrust of any of the leftists in this country) but I feel as though hitlerly will keep going for the nomination even

She has already been pushing for the party to recognize her win in Florida after they stripped it of its delegates; yet you never hear anything about this fact...for all we know she might also push for Michigan to count

and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if some in the party would go along with such plans and give her those states even though they don’t count and she agreed they would not count

further, the way I see this is that for the first time in a while the nomination will lead all the way up to the primary... right now there is only a 70 or so delegate difference between Hitlerly and Barry Soetoro (Barack Insane Obama)...assume that Obama wins Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island... someone correct me if i am wrong, but if Clinton succeeds further in her attempts to buy off the superdelegates, she could still win

I am really hoping that happens because the dems are falling in love with Barry... they are crying and worshiping him at campain rallies for gods sake... so the best thing is to hope it keeps going this way and that hitlerly can weasel her way into the nomination... It would kick out so many of the liberals because they would be pissed about the whole ordeal of her knocking out Obama despite the “popular vote” tallies of delegates from the primaries

thus, I’d assume anyways, most would be too pissed to vote for her and would instead shift some of their support to McCain since he is hardly a very conservative individual, and that most of their support would shift to Nader who has no shot in hell but it would effectually fracture the left thus letting McCain (the lesser of two evils in my view) win the presidency

or maybe I am way off here or giving the Clintons’ ruthlessness too much credit

any thoughts?

.... and be rid of the clintons for good.

Hill will still be in the Senate & Slick will still be flying around the world on private jets, making nice with America's enemies ...... and they'll both be madder than H.E.doubleL that they lost. They most definitely won't be gone for good until they're taking the ultimate dirt nap with stakes through the hearts. Even then, I'm afraid their betrayals of this country and the damage they've already done will continue to rise like Zombies at inopportune times and bedevil us for decades to come.

I used to be like a lot of FReepers, hoping Clinton would win the nomination because I thought she would be the easiest to beat in November. But you know what? I now want Obama to get the nomination.

Even though I still think Clinton is quite beatable in November, I don’t want even the smallest chance of her winning. Things can go wrong, not to mention that the underhanded tactics of the Clinton crime family could, somehow, allow her to steal the election.

Obama, I am convinced, will get beaten in November. But even if he did win, I could stand it for 4 years. But I could not stomach Hillary Clinton at POTUS under any circumstances. So to my GOP FRiends in Texas, I say, “Vote for Obama” next Tuesday.
